Are you a student or recent graduate interested in using data to drive real business impact? Do you want to grow into a data scientist consultant by working with an experienced team that empowers you to solve critical business challenges through data and process improvement? If this sounds like a match, weβd love to hear from you.
Vuono Group is a consultancy that drives business value with processes and AI. We empower Nordic organisations in both the private and public sectors to bridge the gap between business needs and AI capabilities, enabling smarter decision-making, increased operational efficiency, and accelerated growth. As a member of the Futurice ecosystem, we offer the best of both worlds β a robust network of professionals combined with the agile and innovative environment of a startup. This is an ideal way to kickstart your career in Data Science!
About the roleΒ
As an Associate Data Scientist, youβll work alongside experienced consultants, data engineers, and business experts to help clients turn data into insights and measurable operational value.Β In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Assist in building data pipelines and preparing data for analytics and modelling
Explore and analyse datasets to identify patterns, trends and opportunities for business improvement
Support the development of machine learning models (classification, regression, clustering) and help with evaluation and deployment under supervision
Work hands-on with setting up process mining and automation capabilities for our clients
Contribute to client workshops and stakeholder discussions to understand business problems and translate them into data-driven solutions
Collaborate across disciplines (business engineers, software developers, process specialists) to ensure our solutions are usable, scalable and aligned with client needs
Learn about and apply best practices in data engineering, ML/AI workflows, model monitoring and data quality
If youβre looking for an opportunity where you can take on real responsibility, learn from experienced professionals, develop your technical skills (in data engineering, machine learning, and analytics) and grow into a consultant, youβll find it here.
What weβre looking for
You donβt need to be an expert. What really counts is your hunger to solve business challenges with technology and your drive to keep learning. The following will help you hit the ground running:
Currently studying or recently graduated in Machine Learning, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
Programming skills or familiarity with at least one language commonly used in data science (e.g., Python, R) and familiarity with SQL
Understanding of statistical methods and machine learning concepts (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, feature engineering)
Curiosity or hands-on exposure to LLMs and generative AI (e.g., using or fine-tuning large language models, experimenting with embeddings, evaluating models, or integrating LLM APIs into workflows)
Self-driven attitude and analytical mindset: you enjoy digging into data, asking questions and making sense of messy real-world problems
Clear communication skills in Finnish and English (spoken and written)
Curiosity about consulting and eagerness to grow client-facing, project management and problem-solving skills
Interest in processes, business operations and how technology can support organisational change
Bonus: Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) or data engineering tools
We work closely with our clients, often on-site. Weβre therefore looking for candidates who live in, or are planning to move to, the Greater Helsinki area.
What we offer
Real responsibility from day one: apply your skills in real client projects, not just academic exercises.
Mentorship and continuous learning: grow fast with guidance from experienced professionals in a supportive, cross-disciplinary team.
A culture that values impact, transparency, collaboration, and curiosity.
Competitive compensation aligned with TEK salary recommendations.
A growth environment where titles donβt matter: you can make an impact, contribute ideas, and develop both personally and professionally.
Great perks, including extensive healthcare, lunch and sports benefits, Friday breakfasts, fun team events, and more.
