This is a unique opportunity to leave your mark on pioneering space projects:

Be a founding member of the SaaS Journey at Beyond Gravity as you help us build its first MVP and lay foundations for our downstream applications. As the key member of our dev team, you will own everything about data and work with a small team to build a high-performance, real-time tracking application and ensure end-to-end performance and scalability. Over time, your work is expected to extend beyond this project as we aim to build an entirely new software family.

Your Mission

• Design and implement real-time data pipelines for orbital and payload related data
• Ingest and transform data from various 3rd parties and various proprietary sources (Ex. open TLE, payload data)
• Maintain and optimize relational and vector databases
• Collaborate with other software engineers to prepare datasets for large volume inferences
• Implement data versioning, lineage, and audit trails as you ensure data integrity, encryption, and access control
• Support backend engineers with data modeling and APIs
• Monitor data workflows, resolve pipeline issues, and document data schemas and ingestion procedures
• Define and enforce data governance policies, including access control, retention, and compliance with internal and external standards

Your Story:

Must have:

• Master’s degree in computer engineering, software engineering or related technical field
• 2+ years of experience in data engineering or backend data systems
• Acquired knowledge with:
  • PostgreSQL / vector databases
  • aerospace data formats (TLE, SP3, CCSDS)
  • real-time data handling (SSE or webSockets)
• We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, strucured, proactive, foward-thinker and Data chief.

Nice to have’s:

• Familiarity with orbital mechanics
• Prior experience with real-time tracking systems
• Experience supporting ML/AI teams with structured datasets
• Exposure to defense-grade cyber, data systems and encryption
• Startup mindset in line with a constant work-in-progress environment with rapid changes and high pace
