The University of Eastern Finland is inviting applications for a Senior Researcher in Large-scale Electrophysiology Data Analysis Method Development position on the Kuopio Campus. Role and salaryΒ
As our new Senior Researcher in Large-scale Electrophysiology Data Analysis Method Development, you will be working in the A.I. Virtanen Institute for Molecular Sciences at the Faculty of Health Sciences. The position is located in Kuopio, Finland.
The tasks and duties of the Senior Researcher will focus on electrophysiology data analysis methods at two levels:
1. Β Β Supporting relevant research groups working on human and rodent long-term EEG and in vitro electrophysiology in developing their data analysis and processing pipelines.
2. Β Β Enabling seamless integration of large-scale electrophysiology data (hundreds of Tbs) into our existing neurodata-ecosystem and national super-computing resources.
In addition, the Senior Researcher should be willing to provide consultation on data analysis and help other researchers with the organization and processing of their electrophysiology data. The Senior Researcher is expected to contribute to the writing of research funding applications by providing expert advice regarding electrophysiology data analysis. The Senior Researcher will have the opportunity to focus on their own research 25% of the time. The Senior Researcher is expected to team up with other electrophysiology experts to be hired with Research Council of Finlandβs strategic PROFI8/BRAINHEALTH funding.
The position will be filled from 1 August 2025 onwards (or as agreed) to 31 July 2030. The position will be filled for a fixed term due to tasks in the Research Council of Finlandβs strategic PROFI8/BRAINHEALTH project. A probationary period is applied to all new members of the staff.
The salary of the position is determined in accordance with the salary system for Finnish universities. The salary comprises two components: a job-related salary element and a personal salary element. In this position, the job-related salary element is EUR 3,747 or 4,320 /month, based on levels 6β7 of the job requirement level chart for teaching and research staff. The personal salary element can be a minimum of 6% and a maximum of 50% of the above-mentioned sum. Depending on the job-related salary element and the personal salary element , the salary will be approximately EUR 4,347 β 5,270 /month at the beginning of the employment relationship.
