The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

DePuy Synthes is building a new enterprise master data capability—and this role is at the center of it. As Director, Master Data Governance & Management (MDM), you will set the vision and build the operating model that makes master data trusted, usable, and scalable across the business. You’ll connect strategy to execution, partnering across functions to modernize how data is created, governed, and put to work—so teams can run faster, make better decisions, and deliver for patients and customers.
You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of operations master data—from standards and controls to quality, migration, and adoption—enabled by SAP S/4HANA and SAP MDG and other enterprise applications. This is a highly visible leadership role with global reach across Material/Product, Customer, Vendor/Supplier, and Finance domains, working closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Process Owners, IT/ERP, and Security/Compliance to drive measurable outcomes.
Set and lead the enterprise MDM vision, operating model, and multi-year roadmap (governance, ownership, ways of working, and investment priorities).
Establish master data policies, standards, and controls that enable consistent, compliant, and audit-ready data creation and change.
Stand up and run global governance across Material/Product, Customer, Vendor/Supplier, and Finance domains—including stewardship enablement and decision forums.
Own SAP MDG functional leadership, designing workflows, validations, integrations, and role-based controls that make the “right way” the easy way.
Lead SAP S/4HANA data migration strategy and execution (profiling, cleansing, transformation, validation, and cutover readiness) with measurable quality gates.
Build a data service and quality management capability— Establish service level DQ rules, monitoring, issue management, and continuous improvement—anchored in clear KPIs and accountability.
Partner with global business and IT leaders to translate process and governance needs into fit-to-standard solutions and tangible business outcomes.
Drive change adoption for new processes and tools through strong communications, training enablement, and a practical support/hypercare model.
Build and lead a high-performing team and delivery ecosystem (internal talent and system integrators), ensuring disciplined execution and value delivery.
Continuously improve usability and automation so master data services are fast, reliable, and scalable for the enterprise.
Master data quality improves and stays in control (e.g., completeness, accuracy, timeliness), with clear ownership and remediation.
Cost to manage data is measured, visible and improves. (establish baseline and improvement plans)
Master-data-driven disruptions decline across critical processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, plan-to-produce, lifecycle management).
Create/change/extend cycle times become faster and predictable, supported by standardized workflows and automation.
S/4HANA migration readiness and cutover quality targets are achieved (profiling, cleansing completion, validation pass rates, low defect leakage).
Governance adoption is sustained across functions and regions (active stewardship, policy compliance, and effective decision cadence).
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in master data management, data governance, and/or related data leadership in business operations or related function in MedTech or other regulated industry
Experience managing global team across multi-modal delivery including employees, integrators, managed service providers etc.
Hands-on leadership of SAP MDG and SAP S/4HANA master data initiatives (design through deployment), including workflow, validation, and integration considerations.
Proven leadership of large-scale SAP data migration programs, including profiling, cleansing, transformation, validation, and cutover execution.
Strong knowledge of master data domains and business processes across supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, finance, and commercial operations.
Experience establishing governance operating models, standards, controls, and stewardship engagement across regions/functions.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into fit-to-standard solutions and measurable outcomes.
Experience leading global template deployments and operating model rollouts across multiple regions and business units.
Experience implementing data quality management approaches and tooling (DQ rules, monitoring, and issue remediation workflows).
Background in regulated environments with strong security/compliance partnership and audit-ready controls.
