JOB SUMMARY: The Senior IT Engineer provides tech support across desktops, servers, networks, cloud services, and more, ensuring efficient issue resolution. Strong customer service, troubleshooting on hardware/software, and experience in fast-paced settings are required. The role collaborates with senior IT staff and management to proactively address problems and supports projects with accurate documentation.
Responsibility:
- Resolve 1st and 2nd Tier IT issues for desktops, laptops, smartphones, servers, networks, wireless, applications, security, and printers/copiers; build new devices as needed and coordinate with vendors when required.
- Assists with advanced Tier 2/3 IT projects alongside Senior Engineers, including after-hours work (installations, upgrades), troubleshooting network, firewall, server, virtualization, storage, wireless, application, and remote access issues, as well as maintaining cloud services like M365, Jamf, Check Point Harmony, and the Intranet.
- Responsible for managing and operating tier 1 technical projects, including but not limited to: servers, network switches and routers, firewalls, virtualization, applications, wireless systems, desktops and laptops, tablets and smart devices, and network services. Must adhere to project deadlines and provide precise technical supporting documentation.
- Deploy or help build new base servers (hardware/virtual), storage, wireless systems, applications, firewalls, desktops/laptops, and networking configurations.
- Supports security efforts across platforms, ensures standards compliance, and helps with audits.
- Deliver IT support as needed, including evenings, travel, and Game Day.
- Stays current professionally by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and sharing research.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- BS. in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field plus 5+ years of IT experience required.
- 7+ years of IT experience required if no degree.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITY
- Preferred: Technical Certificates
- Knowledge of Base Server OS (Microsoft Active Directory)
- Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Routing Protocols)
- Familiarity with Windows, Mac, and smartphone OS
- Computer hardware troubleshooting
- IT Security principles, platforms, and standards
- Office365 understanding
- Cloud services (Okta, Jamf, Check Point Harmony)
- Basics of storage, backup/restore

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary for this role is $85,000 - $90,000. This position may require you to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and holidays outside of a normal working hour as needed.
