Job Summary

The System Administrator manages servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud services, ensuring secure and reliable operations for both business and football programs. This role is crucial for delivering core IT services across the Training Center and Stadium, maintaining and executing the technology strategy, and supporting the unique demands of a professional sports organization.

This position requires technical expertise and communication skills to assist in infrastructure projects, collaborate with the IT team, and maintain IT alignment with business objectives. Responsibilities include patching, backups, disaster recovery, identity/access administration, and application support in partnership with Security and Support teams. This position reports to the Senior IT Director and is a full-time, onsite role in Englewood/Denver, CO. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and administer all physical and virtual/cloud servers, virtualization, cloud workloads, and other cloud-based applications, including phone systems, SaaS apps, and other tools and services.
  • Oversee all aspects of systems administration, including server management, network storage, cloud infrastructure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID.
  • Strengthen organizational security posture by assisting EDR and Vulnerability Management toolsets to automate threat detection, coordinate emergency patching, and ensure the integrity of business and football-critical systems.  
  • Maintain backup, replication, and disaster recovery; conduct regular restore tests.
  • Manage user access and apply operating system patches/updates (System Integrity).
  • Manage identity and access, Group Policy, MFA, and privileged access workflows.
  • Harden systems; apply patches and updates according to change management standards and NFL compliance standards for system hardening.
  • Support storage platforms, file services, and application servers; monitor capacity and performance.
  • Document configurations, runbooks, and architecture; maintain license and asset records.
  • Collaborate within the systems administration team and the overall IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, customer service, and professional growth.
  • Participate in the strategy for IT systems administration, collaborating with other departments to align strategic priorities and initiatives.
  • Assist critical IT infrastructure projects, from evaluating new technologies to supporting their implementation, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Assist and enforce governance, policies, and procedures related to IT systems administration to ensure security, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Ensure the availability and integrity of systems through robust backup and disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery and effectively manage relationships.
  • Provide expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues and escalating as necessary.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Be physically present during major eventsβ€”such as NFL games and concerts at the stadiumβ€”to provide immediate technical support to ensure that all IT systems (servers, networks, applications, and event-specific technologies) function seamlessly.
  • Other duties as assigned to support a football-first culture.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science/Business Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role, including 3+ years of administering enterprise servers, virtualization, and cloud services
  • Experience with backup/DR technologies and identity management.
  • Strong project skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Expertise in administering a hybrid Windows AD/Entra ID domain that supports both Windows and Mac workstations.
  • Hands-on experience with physical and virtual Windows and Linux server administration, including hyperconverged environments.
  • Experience managing network storage systems.
  • Proficiency in cloud technologies such as Entra ID and Microsoft, including Okta Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • Experience with InTune, JAMF, and Microsoft Office 365 administration.
  • Proven experience with backup and disaster recovery planning, including the implementation and testing of DR/BC plans.
  • Experience with VPN technologies.
  • Familiarity with LAN/WLAN network infrastructure and advanced data networking configurations.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, and interpersonal communication skills (both written and oral).
  • High degree of discretion, integrity, and professionalism.  Strong accountability and adaptability to changing priorities, always prioritizing a football-first culture.
  • Ability to work independently and manage conflicting priorities while knowing when to communicate and escalate issues appropriately.

Preferred Skills & Abilities

  • Certifications (e.g., MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP, Azure Administrator, Linux).
  • Automation with PowerShell, bash, or configuration tools (Ansible).
  • Experience supporting integrations with ERP/CRM/HR systems and application life-cycle management.

Time Commitment

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.

 

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary for this role is $80,000 - $90,000.
